We Can Sail

The goal of the We Can Sail Program is to promote inclusion and friendship among children with disabilities and their high school mentors. By providing a day of water activities, such as kayaking, sailing, and power boating, the program allows children to have a unique and enjoyable experience while also fostering social connections.

The program takes place on Saturdays throughout the school year, allowing participants to escape from their daily routines and immerse themselves in the beauty of Miami's waters. High school mentors are carefully paired with children with disabilities, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for everyone involved.

Through the We Can Sail Program, children with disabilities not only can try new water activities but also develop friendships with their mentors. These friendships can have a lasting impact on both the children and the mentors, promoting empathy, understanding, and. a sense of community.

By focusing on "Kids Helping Kids," the program encourages high school mentors to become advocates for inclusivity and disability awareness in their schools and communities. It empowers them to take on leadership roles and make a difference in the lives of others.
